Jadeja Explains His Fiery Send-Off to Ex-CSK Teammate Dube: "I Know How He Thinks"
Jadeja used years of net bowling knowledge to plan and execute Dube's dismissal perfectly.
Ravindra Jadeja delivered a standout performance against his former franchise Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2026 clash, but it was his fiery send-off to ex-teammate Shivam Dube that became the biggest talking point. Representing Rajasthan Royals after a long 13-year stint with CSK, Jadeja played a crucial role in restricting his former side with a disciplined bowling spell.
The all-rounder produced an impactful performance, conceding just 18 runs in three overs while picking up key wickets. He struck twice in the same over, dismissing Sarfaraz Khan and Dube, significantly denting CSK’s innings and limiting them to a modest total of 127. Jadeja’s understanding of the pitch conditions and his precise execution made it difficult for batters to score freely.
However, the highlight of the match came when Jadeja dismissed Dube shortly after being hit for a six. After the wicket, Jadeja celebrated with an aggressive “gun-shot” gesture, surprising fans and sparking discussions across social media. The intense reaction stood out, especially given the long association the two players shared during their time at CSK.

Explaining the celebration after the match, Jadeja revealed that it stemmed from a well-thought-out plan. Having bowled extensively to Dube in the nets over the years, he was aware of the batter’s mindset and preferred shot selections. Jadeja said he deliberately targeted areas outside the off-stump, knowing Dube would attempt big shots, which eventually led to his dismissal.
Jadeja also praised the pitch conditions, noting that it offered assistance to bowlers with some turn and grip. He emphasized that his focus was on maintaining accuracy and letting the surface do the work, rather than forcing variations. His disciplined approach paid off as CSK struggled to build momentum throughout their innings.
Chasing a target of 128, Rajasthan Royals comfortably secured victory, thanks to a blistering knock from young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who smashed 52 runs off just 17 balls. RR chased down the total with ease, winning by eight wickets and with 7.5 overs to spare, marking a dominant performance against the five-time champions.
