IPL 2026 Second Phase Schedule Announced: MI vs CSK Clash Dates Revealed

The second phase features 50 matches and eight double-headers

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the schedule for the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, with 50 matches set to be played between April 13 and May 24 across 12 venues in India.

The second leg of the tournament will see matches hosted in cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dharamshala, Raipur, and New Chandigarh.

The phase will kick off on April 13 with Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad. One of the most anticipated clashes — the ‘El Clasico’ of IPL — between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will be played twice, with the first match scheduled for April 23 in Mumbai and the return fixture on May 2 in Chennai.

To add to the excitement, the schedule includes eight double-headers. Afternoon matches will begin at 3:30 PM IST, followed by evening games at 7:30 PM IST.

Franchise-specific venue allocations have also been outlined. Punjab Kings will split their home games between New Chandigarh and Dharamshala, while Rajasthan Royals will host four matches in Jaipur. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to play three home games in Bengaluru and two in Raipur.

The BCCI had earlier released the schedule for the first phase, which runs from March 28 to April 12. With the league stage entering its decisive stretch, teams will battle across venues to secure playoff spots. The venues for the knockout stage, however, are yet to be announced. The second phase promises high-intensity cricket as the race to the playoffs heats up in the final weeks of the tournament.
