KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, who won the toss and elected to bat, confirmed the spinners’ absence. Their spots were filled by West Indies all-rounder Rovman Powell and Indian pacer Navdeep Saini, neither of whom are spinners. Punjab Kings have named Prabhsimran Singh (WK), Cooper Connolly, Shreyas Iyer (C), Nehal Wadhera, Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Arshdeep Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal in their playing XI. Their Impact Player bench includes Suryansh Shedge, Vishnu Vinod, Pravin Dubey, Priyansh Arya, and Harpreet Brar.
Chakaravarthy and Narine have historically been linchpins of KKR’s spin attack, providing both control and wicket-taking ability in crucial overs.
