IPL 2026: DC vs RCB Clash In Delhi As Kohli And KL Rahul Lead High-Stakes Battle

DC face RCB in IPL 2026 clash in Delhi with KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in focus amid play-off race.

Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 39 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Monday, in a high-stakes clash with playoff implications for the home side.

DC enter the contest after a dramatic loss against Punjab Kings, despite posting a massive total of 264/2, powered by KL Rahul’s unbeaten 152 off 67 balls. However, their bowling unit failed to defend the target as Punjab Kings completed the highest successful run chase in men’s T20 cricket history. The defeat has left DC struggling in the points table, further complicated by an injury concern for pacer Lungi Ngidi, who suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital after being concussed during a fielding attempt.

RCB, on the other hand, come into the match in strong form following a win over Gujarat Titans. Virat Kohli led the chase with a fluent 81 off 55 balls, while Devdutt Padikkal added a quickfire 55 off 27 deliveries. The Bengaluru-based side will be looking to continue their momentum as they push for a stronger position in the standings.

The previous meeting between the two teams earlier in the season saw DC come out on top. In that match, RCB were restricted to 175/8, with DC’s bowlers including Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Lungi Ngidi picking up key wickets. KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs then guided the chase with important half-centuries.

Weather conditions are expected to play a major role in the match, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting a heat wave in New Delhi. Temperatures may rise up to 44°C, with a minimum of around 25°C. Despite the heat, the pitch is expected to remain batting-friendly, suggesting another high-scoring encounter.

Key players in focus include KL Rahul, whose explosive 152 not out is among the highest individual IPL scores ever, and Virat Kohli, who has been in excellent form this season with 328 runs in seven innings. Both batters are expected to play decisive roles in the outcome of the match.

The likely playing XIs for DC include KL Rahul, Tristan Stubbs, David Miller, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav, while RCB are expected to field Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Jitesh Sharma, Tim David, and Josh Hazlewood among others. The match will be broadcast on Star Sports channels and streamed live on the JioHotstar app and website.
