IMD Forecasts Clear Weather For Ahmedabad on IPL 2026 Final Day Between RCB and GT
IMD predicts no rain in Ahmedabad for the RCB vs GT IPL final.
The much-anticipated IPL 2026 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) is expected to proceed without weather-related interruptions, with forecasts indicating clear conditions despite cloud cover over Ahmedabad. The summit clash will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, where both teams will battle for the championship after emerging as the top two sides of the season.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad is not expected to receive rainfall on the day of the final. While cloudy skies may persist throughout the day, the city remains under heatwave conditions. The maximum temperature is forecast to reach around 43 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to remain near 29 degrees Celsius. The absence of rain is likely to come as welcome news for players, organizers, and thousands of fans expected to attend the match.
The final carries significant importance for both franchises. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru are aiming to retain the title they won in 2025, ending years of disappointment in the tournament. Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, RCB have once again produced a consistent campaign and will be looking to become one of the few teams in IPL history to successfully defend their crown.

Gujarat Titans, meanwhile, are seeking their second IPL title after winning the tournament in their debut season in 2022. The home side has enjoyed another strong campaign and will enter the final with confidence after defeating Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2. Having played all their home matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat will also benefit from familiarity with local conditions and strong crowd support.
Both teams finished the league stage with identical records of nine victories and five defeats from 14 matches. RCB secured the top position due to a superior net run rate, while Gujarat finished second. The two sides shared honors during the league phase, winning one match each, setting the stage for a closely contested championship encounter. RCB reached the final by defeating Gujarat in Qualifier 1, while the Titans earned a rematch through the second qualifier.
Several individual contests could influence the outcome of the final. Gujarat openers Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan have been among the tournament's leading run-scorers, while Virat Kohli has once again been a key contributor for Bengaluru. The battle for the Purple Cap also remains alive, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the wicket charts and Kagiso Rabada close behind. With no rain forecast and ideal conditions for a full match, fans can look forward to an uninterrupted IPL 2026 final between two of the season's best-performing teams.
