Cameron Green Set to Resume Bowling for KKR Against LSG at Eden Gardens on Thursday
Green returns to bowling for KKR after recovering from a lower-back injury.
Kolkata Knight Riders are set to receive a significant boost in the Indian Premier League 2026 as Cameron Green is likely to resume bowling in their upcoming clash against Lucknow Super Giants. The all-rounder, who was initially playing as a specialist batter, is now expected to return to full duties after recovering from injury concerns.
Green, who was bought for ₹25.20 crore, making him one of the most expensive overseas players in IPL history, had been restricted from bowling due to a lower-back issue. Cricket Australia had earlier confirmed that he would gradually rebuild his bowling workload before returning to competitive action.
With more than 10 days having passed since that update, reports suggest that Green is now fit enough to bowl in match conditions. His return could not come at a better time for Kolkata, who have struggled early in the season and are searching for momentum.

KKR’s bowling unit has been severely hit by injuries, with key players like Matheesha Pathirana, Harshit Rana, and Akash Deep unavailable. Additionally, Mustafizur Rahman was ruled out before the tournament, further weakening the attack.
Green’s absence with the ball had added pressure on the remaining bowlers, especially with Varun Chakaravarthy struggling for form. His return as a bowling option is expected to provide balance and flexibility to the team combination.
However, Green is yet to make a strong impact with the bat, scoring just 24 runs across three matches. As KKR prepare for a crucial fixture, all eyes will be on the Australian all-rounder to deliver with both bat and ball and help turn around the team’s campaign.
