Angkrish Raghuvanshi Out Of IPL 2026 Match Between KKR And DC Due To Injury

Raghuvanshi ruled out of final IPL match after injury setback.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have suffered a significant setback ahead of their final league-stage match of the IPL 2026 season, with young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to injury. The franchise confirmed the development on Friday, stating that the 21-year-old sustained both a concussion and a fracture to a finger on his left hand during the match against Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens on May 20.

According to the official statement from KKR, Raghuvanshi suffered the injuries while attempting a catch in the high-intensity clash. The team medical staff assessed his condition immediately after the incident, and further examinations confirmed the extent of the damage, ruling him out for the rest of the season. The franchise described it as a dual injury involving head impact and a hand fracture, requiring rest and recovery.

Raghuvanshi’s absence comes at a crucial stage for KKR, who have shown a strong mid-season revival after a difficult start to the campaign. The team lost five of their first six matches but later bounced back with a series of wins to stay in playoff contention. The young batter had been one of the key contributors in this turnaround, playing a consistent role in the batting lineup.

In the ongoing season, Raghuvanshi scored 422 runs in 13 matches at an impressive average of 42.20 and a strike rate of 146.52, including five half-centuries. His performances provided stability in the middle order and made him one of the standout emerging players of the tournament for KKR.

KKR currently sit sixth on the points table with 13 points from 13 matches, having registered six wins, six losses, and one no-result. The team will now face Delhi Capitals in their final league match at Eden Gardens on Sunday, with a slim chance of qualifying for the playoffs depending on other results involving Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings.

Despite Delhi Capitals being eliminated from playoff contention, KKR will be under pressure to secure a win and rely on favourable outcomes elsewhere to keep their qualification hopes alive. The loss of Raghuvanshi adds further challenge to their campaign at a decisive moment in the tournament.
