IPL 2026: Virat Kohli Shares Heartwarming Moment With Anushka After RCB Triumph

Kohli and Anushka celebrated RCB's title win together.

Virat Kohli delivered another match-winning performance as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured their second consecutive Indian Premier League (IPL) title with a five-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans in the 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Kohli sealed the victory in style, striking a boundary and then launching a six straight down the ground to spark celebrations among RCB players and supporters.

One of the most talked-about moments after the win came when Kohli shared an emotional exchange with his wife, actor Anushka Sharma, who was watching from the stands. The veteran batter blew a flying kiss towards her, while Anushka responded with visible joy and emotion as RCB completed another historic triumph.

Reflecting on the team's success, Kohli credited the depth and balance within the current RCB squad, saying he no longer feels the burden of having to single-handedly carry the side. He praised the contributions of several teammates throughout the season, highlighting the performances of bowlers Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jacob Duffy, Krunal Pandya and Rasikh Salam Dar. According to Kohli, the presence of multiple match-winners has strengthened the team's confidence and allowed players to perform with greater freedom.

The star batter said the atmosphere surrounding this year's final was significantly different from the pressure-filled circumstances of the previous season. Having finished at the top of the league table, RCB entered the playoffs with confidence in their abilities and a clear belief that they possessed the strongest all-round squad in the competition. Kohli noted that the team's maturity and composure were evident throughout the campaign and particularly during the knockout stages.

Despite encountering a challenging phase following a mid-season break, RCB managed to regain momentum at a crucial point in the tournament. Kohli pointed to a hard-fought victory over Mumbai Indians as a turning point that restored belief within the dressing room. That result was followed by a convincing win over Kolkata Knight Riders, helping Bengaluru secure first place in the standings and maintain momentum heading into the playoffs.

The title victory further strengthens RCB's growing legacy in franchise cricket. Having ended their long wait for an IPL trophy in 2025, the Bengaluru-based side successfully defended the crown in 2026, establishing themselves among the league's elite teams. Kohli's unbeaten knock in the final and his leadership presence throughout the season once again underlined his importance to a side that continues to enjoy one of the most successful periods in its history.
