Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Headlines ICC Under-19 Team Of The Tournament

India’s teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been named as the headline pick in the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament, after an extraordinary performance that helped India clinch a record-extending sixth U19 world title.

Sooryavanshi, just 14 years old, was unstoppable throughout the tournament and particularly in the final against England U19, where he smashed a blistering 175 runs off 80 balls — a dominant innings studded with 15 fours and 15 sixes — earning him both Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament honours.

The ICC selection panel, chaired by Ian Bishop and featuring cricketing greats such as Lydia Greenway and Andy Flower, chose a 12-player squad that combines standout performers from across the tournament. Sooryavanshi was joined by two other Indian players — Kanishk Chouhan, who contributed strongly with both bat and ball, and Henil Patel, who finished with 11 wickets including a five-for against the USA — underscoring India’s depth in youth talent.

Players from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Pakistan and the West Indies also made the squad, reflecting strong individual campaigns in a highly competitive tournament.
