USA All-Rounder Mohsin Declares: "Pressure All On Pakistan" After 2024 Super Over Win
USA all-rounder Mohammad Mohsin says pressure is on Pakistan after the 2024 win ahead of the T20 World Cup rematch.
The United States have begun psychological sparring ahead of their high-profile Group A clash against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026, with all-rounder Mohammad Mohsin reminding the former champions of their shock defeat at the hands of the USA in the previous edition of the tournament. Mohsin said the Americans are carrying confidence from that historic win and insisted that the pressure lies firmly with Pakistan this time.
The USA famously stunned Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup, defeating them in a Super Over result that played a key role in Pakistan’s early group-stage exit. With the two teams set to meet again on Tuesday, February 10, Mohsin said the USA have focused on the positives from that encounter rather than being overawed by their opponents’ reputation.
“We’ve already beaten Pakistan once, so the pressure is all on them,” Mohsin said at a pre-match press conference on Monday. He added that the USA have nothing to lose in the tournament and are simply enjoying their journey, expressing hope that the campaign could become even more exciting with another upset victory.

Pakistan come into the contest after a narrow three-wicket win over the Netherlands in their opening match, a game that saw them wobble in the middle overs before Faheem Ashraf guided them home. The result underlined lingering concerns about Pakistan’s consistency, despite entering the tournament under new captain Salman Ali Agha.
Mohsin also claimed the USA are a stronger and more skilled unit than they were two years ago, saying the team believes it has improved across departments. He noted that the confidence gained from beating Pakistan previously has been discussed within the squad as a motivational tool rather than a distraction.
Despite losing their opening match against India, the USA impressed by pushing the hosts hard after reducing them to 77/6 at one stage. Mohsin said that performance, particularly with the ball, has boosted the team’s belief ahead of tougher challenges, including the looming clash against Pakistan.
