Team India's Next Match: Afghanistan Test on June 6, 2026 – Full Schedule Revealed

India's immediate next games hinge on T20 World Cup progress; Super 8 follows group stage, leading to March 8 final.

As of March 10, 2026, the Indian men's cricket team has concluded its participation in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, which was co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. India, led by Suryakumar Yadav and defending their 2024 title, advanced through the Super 8 stage with victories including a five-wicket win over West Indies on March 1 in Kolkata, reached the semi-finals defeating England by seven runs on March 5 in Mumbai, and clinched the championship by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final on March 8 in Ahmedabad.

With the T20 World Cup now over, there are no immediate international fixtures scheduled for Team India in March 2026. The BCCI and ICC calendars confirm a break following the tournament, allowing players to transition into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. The IPL, featuring all 10 franchises, is set to begin later in March (around March 26 or 28 based on broadcaster announcements) and run through May, providing domestic T20 action before the next bilateral series.

The next international assignment for the senior men's team comes in June 2026, when India hosts Afghanistan for a short white-ball and red-ball series. This includes a one-off Test match from June 6 to 10 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur (New Chandigarh), followed by a three-match ODI series starting June 14 in Dharamsala and continuing in Lucknow and another venue. The series marks Afghanistan's return to bilateral cricket against India after previous engagements.

Looking further ahead, the 2026 calendar remains packed for Team India. Key upcoming series include a full tour of England in July (5 T20Is and 3 ODIs starting July 1), a tour of Sri Lanka in August (2 Tests and 2 T20Is), and additional home and away commitments later in the year, such as potential series against West Indies and others per the FTP. The focus post-IPL will be on rebuilding momentum in Test cricket and preparing for future global events.

This break post-World Cup allows the team to rest, manage player workload after an intense tournament run, and shift attention to franchise cricket in the IPL, where many Indian stars will feature prominently. Fans can follow IPL updates closely, as it serves as the bridge to the next international window in mid-2026.
