Suryakumar Yadav Leads by Example: No Sledging, Just Skill in Pakistan Victory

Suryakumar Yadav urged no sledging and focus on skill as India beat Pakistan by 61 runs.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav urged his teammates to avoid sledging Pakistan during their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup clash, emphasising discipline and skill over aggression as India secured a commanding 61-run victory on Sunday.

During the team huddle before Pakistan began their chase, Yadav was heard telling players, “Don’t say anything to anyone. We have to play good cricket,” a message that underlined India’s composed approach. The Indian side went on to dominate the Group A encounter after posting 175/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

India’s innings was powered by a strong batting display, with Ishan Kishan leading the charge, while the bowling unit—spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya—dismantled Pakistan’s batting lineup. Yadav himself contributed a steady 32 off 29 balls, anchoring the innings during a crucial phase.

With the emphatic win, India sealed their place in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2026 and improved their dominant head-to-head record against Pakistan. The victory also reinforced the team’s measured, performance-first approach under Yadav’s captaincy.
