Suryakumar Yadav Highlights India’s Depth and Bowling Strength After Series Triumph

India captain admits depth creates 'good headache' pre-World Cup.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav commended the squad’s resilience and comprehensive performance following a hard-fought 2-1 T20I series victory against Australia, despite the decisive third match at The Gabba being abandoned due to lightning and torrential rain with India at 52/0 in 4.5 overs. In the post-match presentation, Yadav emphasized the collective contribution across batting, bowling, and fielding, particularly praising the precision of both pace and spin units in overturning an initial deficit.

Yadav singled out the formidable pace pairing of Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh as a cornerstone of India’s success, while highlighting the impactful returns of spinners Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, and Washington Sundar. He noted their extensive T20 experience and growing confidence, underscoring how each bowler executed designated roles with authority throughout the series, which proved instrumental in securing crucial victories.

Looking ahead, Yadav described the abundance of in-form players as a “positive selection challenge” with upcoming home series against South Africa and New Zealand serving as vital preparation for the T20 World Cup. He referenced the recent triumph of India’s women’s team on home soil as inspiration, anticipating robust crowd support and competitive contests that will fine-tune the squad before the global event.
