Shubman Gill Takes Two Blows in Practice, Shrugs Off Injury Scare

India captain Shubman Gill was reportedly struck twice during the team’s training session on the eve of a three-day practice match against Sri Lanka XI. The incidents occurred while Gill was batting and later fielding, but he was able to continue participating without showing any apparent discomfort.

According to a Times Now report, Gill suffered the first blow while facing left-arm pacer Gurnoor Brar in the nets. A delivery struck the right-handed batter on his right thumb, prompting India’s medical staff to examine him. The team physiotherapist strapped the affected area before Gill resumed his batting practice.

Gill was later hit for a second time while taking part in a fielding drill at first slip. Despite the additional blow, the Indian captain continued with the session and did not appear to experience significant difficulty. No official statement was immediately reported regarding an injury or any concern over his participation in the upcoming practice game.
