Shubman Gill Climbs To Eighth In ICC Test Rankings After Century Vs Afghanistan

Shubman Gill tops Indian ICC Test batting rankings.

India Test captain Shubman Gill has become the highest-ranked Indian batter in the latest ICC Test rankings, moving up two places to eighth position following a century in the recent one-off Test against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh. His knock of 126 played a key role in India’s dominant innings victory by 300 runs.

Gill’s rise sees him overtaking fellow Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who now sits just below him in the standings. The update reflects Gill’s consistent form in the longest format, with his latest performance further strengthening his position as a key figure in India’s red-ball setup.

At the top of the ICC Test batting rankings, England’s Harry Brook has reclaimed the No. 1 position after a strong performance in recent matches. Brook moved ahead of teammate Joe Root, who slipped to third place after a modest outing, while Australia’s Travis Head climbed to second following consistent contributions.
