Shreyas Iyer To Lead India A In Two Unofficial Tests vs Australia

Lucknow four-day games; Dhruv Jurel named deputy; matches from September 16-26.

Shreyas Iyer has been appointed captain of the India A squad for a two-match unofficial Test series against Australia A, scheduled at Lucknow's Ekana Stadium. The first four-day encounter runs from September 16 to 19, followed by the second from September 23 to 26, as announced on Saturday.

Iyer, overlooked for the Asia Cup starting Tuesday, is currently representing West Zone in the Duleep Trophy semifinal against Central Zone in Bengaluru. Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who featured in India's recent Test against England at The Oval, will serve as vice-captain.

The squad blends experience with emerging talent, aiming to provide valuable red-ball exposure ahead of international commitments. Full squad: Shreyas Iyer (c), Abhimanyu Easwaran, N.
