Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma Present India’s New Jersey For 2026 T20 World Cup

India unveils a high-tech, nostalgia-inspired T20 World Cup jersey presented by Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma.

India’s jersey for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was unveiled in a dazzling mid-innings ceremony during the second ODI against South Africa on Wednesday, with former captain and tournament ambassador Rohit Sharma joined by young gun Tilak Varma to reveal the new kit before a capacity 32,000-strong crowd. A giant replica of the jersey was unfurled across the outfield, instantly turning the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium into a sea of blue and triggering deafening roars.

Designed by Adidas in collaboration with the BCCI, the jersey fuses cutting-edge performance technology with unmistakable nostalgia. It retains the iconic V-neck collar from the 2024 title-winning kit while introducing subtle 1990s-inspired tricolour detailing on the shoulders and a modern hexagonal pattern that pays tribute to India’s rich cricket heritage. The fabric uses Adidas’ latest CLIMACOOL+ ventilation system, body-mapped 3D stretch panels, and perforated three-stripe tape for superior breathability and sweat-wicking—critical for the humid February-March conditions expected across eight Indian venues and Colombo.

Rohit Sharma, who led India to their unbeaten 2024 triumph before retiring from T20Is, called the launch “a proud moment for every Indian.” “This jersey carries the dreams of 1.4 billion people. The team will wear it with the same hunger we had last year,” he said, before handing the microphone to Tilak Varma, who added, “It feels unreal to unveil the kit that we’ll defend the World Cup in—on home soil, nothing gets bigger.”

The 10th T20 World Cup (Feb 7–Mar 8, 2026) will see India open their campaign against the USA in Mumbai on February 7, with blockbuster clashes against Pakistan (Delhi, Feb 15) and others in Group A (USA, Netherlands, Namibia). As defending champions, India will play all their group matches on home turf before potential Super 8 games in Sri Lanka.

Replica jerseys went live for pre-order immediately after the reveal, priced at ₹2,999 (authentic) and ₹1,499 (replica), with fans flooding social media with praise for the “retro-modern” look. Adidas confirmed sustainable recycled polyester has been used throughout, aligning with ICC’s eco-drive.

With Suryakumar Yadav set to lead the side and Rohit watching from the commentary box as ambassador, the jersey launch has ignited nationwide excitement just 65 days before India begins their title defence. As the giant kit was rolled back, the message was clear: the Men in Blue are ready to make history again—this time, in front of their own people.
