The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) unveiled the Rohit Sharma Stand at Wankhede Stadium, celebrating the former India Test captain and two-time T20 World Cup winner.
The tribute, announced on Saturday, prompted heartfelt congratulations from teammates, with Mumbai Indians sharing a video capturing their messages.
Suryakumar Yadav hailed the honor, while Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit’s Mumbai Ranji Trophy teammate, quipped, “I’m excited to hit plenty of sixes into your stand.” Jasprit Bumrah, who thrived under Rohit’s captaincy at Mumbai Indians and India, called the stand a “special feeling” and wished him well.

The MCA also honored former ICC and BCCI president Sharad Pawar, ex-India captain Ajit Wadekar with stands, and dedicated a lounge to late MCA president Amol Kale.
The event, attended by Rohit and MCA officials, underscored his legacy as a five-time IPL champion and cricketing icon.
