Ravindra Jadeja Joins Elite Test All-Rounders After Reaching Landmark Double In Galle

Ravindra Jadeja added another major milestone to his Test career on Monday, becoming only the fifth Indian bowler to reach 350 Test wickets. The all-rounder achieved the landmark during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, further strengthening his credentials as one of the most accomplished players in the format. Jadeja reached the milestone by dismissing Sri Lanka debutant Keshara Nuwantha on the third afternoon of the Test. Bowling the fourth delivery of his 17th over, Jadeja pulled his length back outside off and induced Nuwantha into attempting a cut. The ball first struck Yashasvi Jaiswal at silly point before looping towards cover, where Shubman Gill completed the catch.

Nuwantha was dismissed for two, leaving Sri Lanka at 243/7. The wicket took Jadeja to 350 Test wickets, placing him alongside an exclusive group of Indian bowlers. Before him, only Anil Kumble, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kapil Dev and Harbhajan Singh had reached the mark for India. Jadeja’s achievement is particularly notable because his contribution extends well beyond his bowling, with more than 4,000 Test runs already to his name.
