Ravi Bishnoi Breaks 1,089-Day Streak, Clean Bowls Virat Kohli In IPL 2026

Ravi Bishnoi dismisses Virat Kohli bowled after 1,089 days as Rajasthan Royals defeat RCB.

Rajasthan Royals spinner Ravi Bishnoi achieved a rare milestone against Virat Kohli during their IPL 2026 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday, dismissing the star batter in a manner not seen in nearly three years. Bishnoi clean bowled Kohli for 32 off 16 balls with a deceptive googly that slipped between bat and pad to hit the stumps, marking the first time in 1,089 days that Kohli had been bowled in the Indian Premier League.

The last instance of Kohli being dismissed in this fashion dates back to 2023, when Akash Singh of Chennai Super Kings achieved the feat. Bishnoi’s delivery stood out as a key moment in the contest, underlining the leg-spinner’s control and variation against one of the world’s most accomplished batters.

Despite Kohli’s brisk innings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a competitive total of 201 for 8 after being sent in to bat. Captain Rajat Patidar led the charge with a fighting 63, while contributions from Romario Shepherd (22) and Venkatesh Iyer (29) helped maintain momentum through the innings.

Rajasthan Royals, however, responded with an aggressive batting display anchored by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel. The duo stitched together a rapid 108-run partnership in just 37 balls for the second wicket, effectively shifting the balance of the match. Sooryavanshi smashed 78 off 26 deliveries, while Jurel remained unbeaten on 81 off 43 balls to guide the chase.

Although Krunal Pandya attempted to pull things back with two quick wickets, Jurel, alongside Ravindra Jadeja, ensured there were no further setbacks. Their 68-run partnership saw Rajasthan Royals secure a six-wicket victory with two overs to spare, completing a well-paced chase.

Earlier, Rajasthan’s bowling unit, featuring Jofra Archer, Bishnoi, and Brijesh Sharma, shared wickets evenly to restrict Bengaluru despite a strong start. Reflecting on the match, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag acknowledged areas for improvement, noting that while the team executed well overall, better bowling decisions could have limited the opposition to a lower total.
