Pakistan’s Farhan Climbs To Second In ICC Men’s T20I Rankings After Stellar World Cup
Farhan rises to second in ICC T20I batting rankings, closing in on Abhishek Sharma after record World Cup performances.
Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan is closing in on India’s Abhishek Sharma at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings, following an outstanding performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. Farhan, who recently became the first player to score two centuries in a single ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, achieved the milestone with a brilliant hundred against Sri Lanka in Pallekele, lifting him to a career-best rating and moving him up to second place.
Abhishek Sharma continues to lead the T20I batting rankings with a 26-point advantage over Farhan, who now sits at 848 rating points. Farhan’s tally of 383 runs in the World Cup has propelled him past England’s Phil Salt and significantly narrowed the gap with Sharma, making the race for the No. 1 spot increasingly competitive as the tournament enters the knockout phase.
There has been notable movement among other top batters as well. India’s Ishan Kishan climbed one spot to fourth (783 rating points), while teammate Tilak Varma rose to sixth (749 rating points), breaking into the top 10. South Africa’s Dewald Brevis advanced to eighth, and Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett surged six places to 11th after scoring 292 runs during the tournament. Meanwhile, South African duo Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram moved up to 13th and 16th respectively.

In the bowling rankings, India spinner Varun Chakravarthy maintains a slender 18-point lead at the top after claiming 12 wickets in the tournament. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed is closing the gap, rising two places to third overall. Other notable risers include India’s Jasprit Bumrah, up one spot to seventh, Arshdeep Singh, up six places to 13th, England’s Liam Dawson, up nine spots to 14th, and South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi, moving up six places to 20th.
The T20I all-rounder rankings have also seen significant reshuffling. Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza continues to lead, but India’s Hardik Pandya has overtaken Pakistan’s Saim Ayub to secure second place. West Indies veteran Jason Holder surged eight spots to 11th after a strong World Cup showing with both bat and ball, demonstrating the growing depth of talent across T20 cricket.
As the tournament moves into the knockout stage, the race for top positions in batting, bowling, and all-rounder rankings remains highly competitive. Farhan’s surge against Sharma adds another layer of excitement for fans, while performances from rising stars like Kishan, Varma, and Brevis indicate that the T20 World Cup 2026 has showcased not only established stars but also emerging talent from around the globe.
