Jadeja and Siraj Climb to Career-High ICC Rankings After Dominant Win

Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj have reached career-best positions in the latest ICC Men's Test Rankings, propelled by their stellar performances in India's emphatic innings and 140-run victory over the West Indies in the opening match of the ICC World Test Championship cycle in Ahmedabad.

Jadeja, the 36-year-old Indian all-rounder, has ascended to a career-high 25th spot in the batting rankings after scoring an unbeaten 104 in India's only innings, surpassing his previous best of 29th achieved in July 2025. With 644 rating points, Jadeja's contribution extended beyond the bat; his four wickets in the West Indies' second innings solidified his dominance in the all-rounders' rankings, extending his lead over Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan by 125 points.

Fellow Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj capitalized on his form from the recent England tour, claiming figures of 4/40 and 3/31 across both innings. This haul propelled him up three places to a career-best 12th in the bowling rankings, crossing the 700-point threshold for the first time.

The Indian triumph also boosted other squad members in the rankings. Opener KL Rahul climbed four spots to 35th, while wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel rocketed 20 places to 65th after registering his maiden Test century. Left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav advanced seven positions to 21st, courtesy of economical figures of 2 wickets.

In contrast, the West Indies had a subdued outing, with no batter reaching a half-century and no bowler claiming more than two wickets, resulting in no upward movements for their players. Shifting to the T20I rankings, Australia's captain Mitchell Marsh has re-entered the top 10 in batting for the first time since February 2024, following explosive knocks of 85 and an unbeaten 103 in the series against New Zealand.

New Zealand opener Tim Robinson's unbeaten 106 in the first T20I at Mount Maunganui saw him surge 58 places to joint-22nd.  Bangladesh's 3-0 whitewash of Afghanistan in the UAE yielded multiple ranking gains. Batter Saif Hassan entered the top 20 for the first time with an unbeaten 64 in the decider, while Tanzid Hasan rose from 43rd to 37th, and Parvez Hossain jumped from 71st to 53rd.

Afghanistan's Rashid Khan reclaimed the No. 2 spot in T20I bowling—his highest since June 2024—with hauls of 4/18 and 2/29 in the first two matches. Fellow Afghans Noor Ahmad climbed eight places to 17th, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman advanced six to 23rd. Bangladesh bowlers also shone: Tanzim Hasan Sakib rose nine spots to 33rd, Shoriful Islam leaped 21 places to joint-49th, and Player of the Series Nasum Ahmed vaulted from 131st to 44th.

These updates reflect the dynamic shifts in international cricket, underscoring standout individual efforts amid team successes.
