India vs Afghanistan Day 1: Sai Sudharsan’s Fifty Puts India In Total Control

India made a strong start on Day 1 of the one-off Test match against Afghanistan in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, with the top order laying a solid foundation after being asked to bat first. India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bat, setting the tone for the opening day of the contest. Afghanistan’s bowlers struggled to break the growing partnership between Rahul and Sudharsan after the early wicket. Despite some disciplined spells and attempts to create pressure through spin and pace variations, India’s batting pair remained composed, rotating strike effectively and punishing loose deliveries. The Indian team appeared in control as the session progressed, steadily building towards a dominant position.
