India Eyes 10 Boxing Golds on CWG 2026 Day 10 in Glasgow
India chases medals across boxing, athletics, judo, cycling on August 1.
India will look to add significantly to its medal tally on the penultimate day of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Saturday, August 1, with athletes competing across boxing, athletics, judo, para athletics, track cycling and lawn bowls. The Indian contingent enters Day 10 placed 10th in the medal standings with 23 medals, including five gold, 12 silver and six bronze. Boxing is expected to be the biggest source of medals, with a record 10 Indian boxers set to compete in gold medal bouts after an outstanding performance in the semifinals.
The boxing finals at the SEC Centre will see Preeti Pawar (54kg), Jaismine Lamboria (57kg), Jadumani Singh Mandengbam (55kg), Sakshi Chaudhary (51kg), Priya Ghanghas (60kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70kg), Lovlina Borgohain (75kg), Sachin Siwach (60kg), Ankush Panghal (80kg) and Narender Berwal (+90kg) battle for gold medals. Having already secured at least silver by reaching the finals, the Indian boxers now have an opportunity to deliver one of the country's most successful boxing campaigns in Commonwealth Games history.
Athletics will provide another major opportunity for India, with several medal events scheduled throughout the day. Praveen Chithravel and Selva Prabhu Thirumaran will compete in the men's triple jump final, while Priyanka Goswami and Ravina will feature in the women's 10,000m race walk final. Dev Meena and Kuldeep Kumar are set to contest the men's pole vault final, Gulveer Singh will compete in the men's 5,000m final, and India's mixed 4x400m relay team will also be in action later in the night. The athletics programme continues after Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra's javelin final concluded in the early hours of Saturday.

India's judo team will also be aiming to continue its strong run after Asmita Dey and Harsh Singh won the country's first-ever Commonwealth Games gold medals in the sport on Friday. Unnati Sharma and Karanjit Singh Maan begin their campaigns from the Round of 16, while Harsh Tokas and Inunganbi Takhellambam enter directly at the quarter-final stage. Depending on qualification, Indian judokas could feature in quarter-finals, semi-finals and medal bouts later in the day.
Indian athletes will also compete in para athletics, where Soman Rana and Shubham Juyal will participate in the men's F57 shot put final, while Ramesh Shanmugam will contest the men's T54 1,500m final. On the cycling track, David Beckham Elkatohchoongo, Ronaldo Singh Laitonjam and Rojit Singh Yanglem will begin their sprint campaign, while Harshveer Singh Sekhon and Dinesh Kumar will compete in the men's 10km scratch race. In lawn bowls, Navneet Singh and Dinesh Kumar will play England in the men's pairs sectional match, while Nayanmoni Saikia will face South Africa's Bridget Herselman in the women's singles event.
With multiple finals and medal events scheduled across disciplines, Saturday presents one of India's busiest and most important days of the Glasgow Games. A strong performance in boxing, athletics and judo could significantly improve India's position in the medal standings before the Commonwealth Games conclude. The day's schedule offers Indian athletes an opportunity to finish the competition on a high and build momentum heading into the final day of the event.
