India Dominates T20I Batting Charts as Abhishek and Kishan Secure Top 2 Spots

Abhishek Sharma leads ICC T20I rankings; Kishan trails Pakistan rival.

India’s Abhishek Sharma has retained the No. 1 spot in the latest ICC T20I batting rankings, despite not featuring in international cricket since March 9. Fellow Indian batter Ishan Kishan continues to hold second position, trailing Sharma by a narrow margin of just four rating points, while Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan sits third, 23 points behind Kishan.

The latest update from the International Cricket Council reflects notable movements following Bangladesh’s home T20I series against New Zealand, which ended 1-1 with one match washed out. Despite the drawn series, several players delivered impactful performances that translated into ranking gains.

Bangladesh batter Towhid Hridoy was among the key movers, climbing two spots to 37th in the T20I batting rankings after scoring 84 runs in two innings and earning the Player of the Series award. Captain Litton Das also registered a slight improvement, moving up one place following his contribution in the final match in Mirpur.

Among bowlers, Mahedi Hasan advanced one position to 17th, while Shoriful Islam made a significant jump of nine places to reach 54th. For New Zealand, Ben Sears climbed 10 spots to 51st, and Ish Sodhi moved up four places to joint 88th.Sodhi also achieved a personal milestone during the series, becoming New Zealand’s leading wicket-taker in T20 Internationals. He now has 165 wickets, surpassing Tim Southee, who previously held the record with 164 scalps.

In the ODI rankings, updates followed a tri-series featuring Nepal, Oman, and the UAE. Oman opener Jatinder Singh rose seven places to joint 65th among batters, while teammate Shakeel Ahmed climbed nine spots to 31st in the bowling charts. Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee also made notable progress, jumping 12 places to reach 31st among ODI all-rounders, highlighting strong performances from associate nations in recent fixtures.
