Dubai Royals Lift Trophy: Champions of World Legends Pro T20 League After Dominant Chase

Dubai Royals emerged as champions of the inaugural World Legends Pro T20 League after defeating Pune Panthers by eight wickets in the final held in Goa. The Royals completed a confident run chase, sealing the title in style. The team peaked at the right time and dominated the crucial moments of the tournament. Their victory brought a thrilling end to the league’s first edition.

Batting first after winning the toss, Pune Panthers posted a strong total of 195 for four in 20 overs. Openers Martin Guptill and Upul Tharanga added a solid 100-run partnership. Tharanga scored 55, while Guptill top-scored with 62. Shane Watson later powered Pune with an unbeaten 50 off just 24 balls.

In response, Dubai Royals began their chase calmly despite the pressure of a big target. Manvinder Bisla played a key role with a fluent half-century. Captain Shikhar Dhawan continued his excellent form and scored 64, keeping the chase well under control. The Pune Panthers managed a few breakthroughs but failed to slow the Royals.

After Bisla and Dhawan were dismissed, Samit Patel and Ambati Rayudu stitched together a crucial partnership. Their steady batting guided Dubai Royals to the target with ease. The Royals reached 197 for two in just 19 overs, securing a comfortable victory and lifting the trophy.

The tournament was held over 10 days at Goa’s 1919 Sportz Stadium and featured 90 legendary players from around the world. The league received strong support from the Goa government, highlighting the importance of sports tourism. With exciting matches and strong fan interest, the World Legends Pro T20 League concluded as a successful celebration of cricket.
