The third edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 gets underway on July 31, with Central Delhi Kings taking on Purani Dilli 6 in the tournament opener at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Organised by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), the month-long T20 competition will feature eight franchise teams competing across 44 matches, including 40 league-stage games and four playoff fixtures. The final is scheduled for August 30, with every match to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
The tournament will follow a league-cum-playoff format, with the top four teams progressing to the knockout stage. The top two teams after the league phase will contest Qualifier 1 on August 26, while the third and fourth-placed sides will meet in the Eliminator on the same day. The winner of the Eliminator will face the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 on August 28, with the victor advancing to the title clash on August 30. Defending champions West Delhi Lions return after winning the 2025 edition, while inaugural champions East Delhi Riders will also be aiming to reclaim the trophy.
This year's competition features eight franchises—Central Delhi Kings, East Delhi Riders, New Delhi Tigers, North Delhi Strikers, Outer Delhi Warriors, Purani Dilli 6, South Delhi Superstarz and West Delhi Lions. The squads include several established domestic and Indian Premier League players such as Nitish Rana, Ayush Badoni, Mayank Yadav, Harshit Rana, Navdeep Saini, Lalit Yadav, Anuj Rawat and Yash Dhull. Their presence is expected to raise the tournament's competitiveness while providing a platform for emerging cricketers from Delhi to showcase their talent.

Fans will be able to watch all matches live on the Star Sports Network, while live streaming will be available on FanCode and JioHotstar. The opening fixture between Central Delhi Kings and Purani Dilli 6 will begin at 9 p.m. on July 31, followed by a packed schedule featuring double-headers and evening matches throughout August. The tournament is expected to attract significant attention as it blends experienced professionals with promising young players in one of India's leading domestic franchise T20 competitions.
