Bishnoi And Arshdeep Climb In ICC T20I Bowling Rankings
The Indian duo rises; Varun is fourth, Abhishek tops batters, and Hardik leads all‑rounders.
Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi and left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh have climbed the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 International (T20I) bowlers' rankings, reaching sixth and tenth positions, respectively, in the update released on Wednesday. This progress follows strong performances in recent matches, highlighting India's depth in the shortest format of the game.
Fellow spinner Varun Chakravarthy holds the highest spot among Indian bowlers at fourth, while all-rounder Axar Patel advanced one place to 13th. These shifts underscore India's growing dominance in T20I bowling, amid a competitive global landscape where teams like Pakistan and Australia often lead the charts.
In the T20I batting rankings, opener Abhishek Sharma maintains his top position with 829 rating points, closely followed by Tilak Varma in second and captain Suryakumar Yadav in sixth. However, young talent Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped one spot to 11th, coinciding with his exclusion from India's main 15-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup—he is listed among the five reserves. Other notable gains include Ruturaj Gaikwad rising to 26th and Sanju Samson to 34th, reflecting their consistent contributions in domestic and international circuits.
The rankings update comes after the conclusion of a tri-series featuring the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, where Pakistan emerged victorious with a convincing 75-run win over Afghanistan in the final. This tournament provided crucial data for the ICC's periodic evaluations, which factor in recent performances to adjust player standings. No major changes occurred in the all-rounders' category, with India's Hardik Pandya retaining the number one spot at 252 rating points, solidifying his reputation as a versatile asset.

However, the bowlers' rankings saw declines: Kuldeep Yadav slipped to fourth, Ravindra Jadeja to tenth, Mohammed Shami to 14th, and Mohammed Siraj to 15th.
