Australia A Women Defeat India A by Six Wickets in Unofficial Test

Australia A Women beat India A by six wickets in unofficial Test.

Australia A Women secured a commanding six-wicket victory over India A Women on the final day of the one-off unofficial Women’s Test in Brisbane on August 24, 2025. The hosts’ dominant performance, fueled by a formidable top-order batting display and a stellar bowling effort from off-spinner Amy Edgar, overshadowed India A’s resilient fight.

India A, resuming their second innings at 260/8, added 26 runs before being bowled out for 286, setting a target of 281. Edgar’s five-wicket haul (5/57), including the early dismissal of VJ Joshitha, proved pivotal in wrapping up India A’s innings. Shafali Verma (52) and Raghavi Bist (86) were the standout performers for India A, but their efforts fell short against Australia A’s disciplined attack.

Chasing 281, Australia A’s batting lineup showcased remarkable composure. Openers Rachel Trenaman (64) and captain Tahlia Wilson (46) laid a solid foundation with a 117-run partnership, putting India A’s bowlers under pressure. Pacer Saima Thakor (2/63) briefly disrupted the chase by dismissing Wilson and Trenaman in quick succession, with wicketkeeper Nandini Kashyap taking a key catch. However, Anika Learoyd (72) and Maddy Drake (68) forged a match-defining 136-run stand, steering Australia A to 283/4 in 85.3 overs to clinch the victory.
