2026 U19 World Cup Final: Suryavanshi's Fury — 175 Onslaught Drives India U19 to Record 411/9

Vaibhav Suryavanshi's 175 set a record of 411/9 for India U19 in the World Cup final.

India Under-19 produced a historic batting display in the final of the ICC U19 World Cup 2026, riding on a sensational century-plus knock by Vaibhav Suryavanshi to post a record 411/9 against England. The massive total, set at the Harare Sports Club on Thursday, is the highest ever recorded in an Under-19 World Cup knockout match.

The standout performance came from 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a breathtaking 175 off just 80 deliveries, completely dismantling the England bowling attack. His innings, marked by clean hitting and fearless strokeplay, set multiple records. Suryavanshi became the fastest batter to score a century in a U19 World Cup final and the first player to cross 150 runs in the tournament’s summit clash.

India’s innings gained early momentum and never relented as Suryavanshi dominated proceedings, finding regular boundaries and clearing the ropes with ease. His acceleration in the middle and death overs ensured England were constantly under pressure, with bowlers struggling to contain the scoring rate. Support from the middle order helped India maintain intensity even after the fall of wickets.

With this knock, Suryavanshi also etched his name into India’s U19 World Cup history books. He now ranks third among Indian batters for most runs in a single U19 World Cup campaign, behind only Sarfaraz Khan (566 runs) and Shikhar Dhawan (505 runs). His performance in the final further cemented his reputation as one of the brightest emerging talents in Indian cricket.

India’s total of 411/9 surpassed their own previous record from the 2016 edition and placed England under immense scoreboard pressure in the title clash. The innings not only showcased India’s batting depth but also underlined the growing dominance of their youth system on the global stage, setting the tone for a potentially memorable World Cup triumph.
