Two Killed, One Injured in Patna Land Dispute Over Two Inches of Land
Two shot dead, one injured in Patna village over a minor land dispute involving two inches of land.
Two people were shot dead and another seriously injured following a violent land dispute in Bihar’s Patna district on Friday. The incident occurred in Rasalpur village under the Fatuha police station area, triggering panic and tension among local residents. Police were rushed to the spot to control the situation.
The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Rajwanti Devi and 55-year-old Devsagar Singh. Both sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to a nearby hospital. However, they succumbed to their injuries due to excessive blood loss despite medical efforts.
According to the victim’s family, the clash erupted over a long-standing dispute involving just two inches of land. Jitendra Kumar, son of Rajwanti Devi, said the disagreement had persisted for years between two brothers, Shravan Prasad and Rajkumar Yadav, creating tension within the family.

He alleged that during a discussion on Friday morning, Shivam Kumar Yadav, son of Rajkumar Yadav, suddenly arrived and opened fire. Rajwanti Devi, Rajan Prasad, and Devsagar Singh were hit by bullets. Rajan Prasad survived the attack and is currently undergoing treatment.
The injured Rajan Prasad is being treated at Patna Medical College and Hospital and is reported to be in serious condition. The accused fled the scene after the shooting, prompting residents to demand immediate arrests and compensation for the victims’ families.
Rural SP Kundan Kumar visited the site and confirmed that two pistols, a sword, and several spent cartridges were recovered. Police have deployed additional forces in the village and launched raids to arrest the accused. Authorities said the situation is under control, though tension remains.
