PM Modi unveils world’s tallest Lord Ram statue in South Goa.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a monumental 77-foot tall bronze statue of Lord Ram on Friday at the historic Shree Samsthan Gokarn Jeevottam Mutt in Partagali, South Goa. Crafted by renowned sculptor Ram Sutar—the same artist behind the Statue of Unity—this statue is recognized as the world’s tallest representation of Lord Ram. The unveiling was a part of the 550th-anniversary celebrations of the mutt, one of India's oldest monastic institutions revered for its spiritual, cultural, and social contributions, especially within the Saraswat community.

The event drew prominent dignitaries, including Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, reflecting the statue’s cultural and religious significance. A dedicated helipad was constructed on the mutt premises to facilitate the Prime Minister’s visit. The unveiling marks a key milestone in an 11-day festival featuring numerous rituals, cultural performances, and community outreach activities, drawing thousands of devotees daily.

Shree Samsthan Gokarn Jeevottam Mutt has served as a spiritual center for centuries, and the new statue symbolizes the deep faith and heritage it embodies. The bronze statue, made with intricate detail, stands as a testament to India’s rich tradition of devotional art and modern engineering excellence.
