Tensions Escalate: Saudi Arabia Warns Iran Against Threatening Neighbors
Saudi Arabia condemns Iran’s overnight attacks, warns of political, economic, and potential military responses.
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, sharply criticized Iran on Thursday following overnight missile and drone strikes targeting the kingdom. “What little trust there was before has completely been shattered,” he said, emphasizing the gravity of the attacks and their impact on regional stability.
Prince Faisal made the remarks after attending a meeting of foreign ministers from Gulf Arab states and other regional partners convened to address the escalating tensions stemming from Iran’s actions. The attacks, he said, were not only aimed at Saudi Arabia but also affected neighboring countries uninvolved in the broader conflict.
“The attacks on my country and on my neighboring countries that are not involved in this conflict — that’s all I’m interested in,” Prince Faisal stated. He added that Riyadh intends to leverage all available tools—political, economic, diplomatic, and otherwise—to compel Iran to cease such attacks.

During the briefing, the Saudi foreign minister also did not rule out military responses. “The kingdom is not going to succumb to pressure, and on the contrary, this pressure will backfire,” he said. “As we have stated quite clearly, we have reserved the right to take military actions if deemed necessary.”
Prince Faisal accused Iran of attempting to intimidate its neighbors through repeated strikes, warning that Tehran’s tactics could provoke stronger regional and international responses. The comments underscore Saudi Arabia’s resolve to defend its territory and allies while pursuing diplomatic avenues to reduce escalation.
The situation reflects ongoing tensions in the Middle East, where proxy conflicts and strategic rivalries have repeatedly threatened security in the Gulf region. Regional leaders are closely monitoring Iran’s next moves, with diplomatic channels remaining active to prevent further escalation.
