Vaibhav Suryavanshi Skips Class 10 Boards for Cricket?
14-year-old cricket prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi skips CBSE Class 10 boards due to cricket commitments.
India’s rising cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi will not appear for the CBSE Class 10 board examinations this year, choosing instead to prioritise his fast-paced cricketing commitments. The 14-year-old batter, who recently dazzled at the ICC Under-19 World Cup, has been occupied with continuous training camps and competitive tournaments. His packed schedule has left little time for academic preparation ahead of the board exams scheduled from February 17 to March 11.
A resident of Tajpur in Bihar, Suryavanshi is a student of Modesty School, Tajpur. School authorities confirmed that his examination form had been duly filled and an admit card was issued, with his centre allotted at Poddar International School. However, after discussions between the school administration and his father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, it was decided that he would skip this year’s examination cycle.
Sources indicate that the young cricketer has been travelling extensively due to national training assignments and tournament commitments. The prolonged absence from regular classes and revision sessions significantly impacted his exam preparation. Given the demanding nature of elite-level cricket at such a young age, the family and school reportedly chose to prioritise his sporting career at this stage.

Suryavanshi recently played a pivotal role in guiding India to the Under-19 World Cup title. He emerged as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, amassing 439 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 62.71 and a remarkable strike rate of 169.49. His tally included a century, three half-centuries, and a highest score of 175, underlining his consistency and dominance.
Notably, he smashed a record-breaking 30 sixes during the tournament, the highest ever in Under-19 World Cup history. He also holds the distinction of being India’s leading run-scorer in U19 ODIs, with 1,412 runs in just 25 innings at an average exceeding 56 and a strike rate above 165. With a confirmed stint lined up for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, Suryavanshi’s cricketing journey appears firmly on the fast track — even if it means putting academics briefly on hold.
