The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will officially begin on Saturday evening with a high-energy opening ceremony at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium. The event promises to set the tone for an action-packed tournament, as co-host India faces the USA in the first match. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6 pm IST, offering fans an immersive live experience combining music, dance, and pyrotechnics.

The show will open with a musical medley by Rishab Sharma and Shivamani, creating a dynamic start to the evening. This will be followed by the dramatic arrival of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy, carried into the stadium by a jetpack performer, creating a visually striking moment for fans in attendance. The spectacle is designed to reflect the speed and energy of T20 cricket.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah and former India captain Rohit Sharma, who led India to victory in the previous edition, will formally welcome the trophy. They will be joined by 20 children representing all participating countries to officially declare the tournament open, adding a ceremonial and symbolic touch to the grand event.

The field of play will serve as a visual canvas, incorporating the official tournament logo as part of the stage design. The ceremony will conclude with a pyrotechnic display, after which fireworks will light up the pitch as the opening match between India and USA begins at 7 pm IST. Only ticket holders for the match will have access to the opening ceremony, and early arrival is recommended to avoid missing any part of the show.
