PV Sindhu attended SRH vs KKR IPL 2026 match in Hyderabad with her husband.
Indian badminton star PV Sindhu was spotted at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. She attended the high-profile clash along with her husband Venkata Datta Sai, drawing attention from fans as she cheered for the home team.
The Olympic medallist and Commonwealth Games gold winner was seen dressed in orange attire, symbolically supporting Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). She was also seen alongside SRH franchise owner Kavya Maran during the match, adding to the buzz around the celebrity-filled stadium atmosphere. Her presence comes shortly after her participation in the Uber Cup badminton tournament.
Sindhu recently featured in India’s campaign at the Uber Cup, where the national team suffered a 0–5 defeat to China in their final Group A fixture. Despite the loss, India put up competitive performances in several matches. Sindhu, playing a crucial singles rubber against world number two Wang Zhi Yi, came close to victory after leading in the deciding game but eventually lost after a late comeback from the Chinese player.

In other matches, India’s singles players Isharani Baruah and Devika Sihag also showed resilience against strong Chinese opponents but fell short in their respective contests. The women’s doubles pair of Tanisha Crasto and Kavipriya Selvam started strongly but could not maintain momentum, ultimately losing in a tightly contested three-game match. Despite the defeat, the team’s performance was seen as encouraging against a top-ranked side.
Meanwhile, the IPL fixture between SRH and KKR saw both teams making strategic changes to their playing XIs. SRH opted for two changes, with Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out due to illness and Smaran Ravichandran making his debut, while Harshal Patel replaced Harsh Dubey. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders brought in Finn Allen and Manish Pandey in place of Tim Seifert and Ramandeep Singh, aiming to strengthen their batting lineup.
The match added to the excitement of the IPL season, with strong fan turnout and celebrity presence further amplifying the atmosphere. Sindhu’s appearance at the stadium highlighted the growing crossover appeal between Indian sports stars and cricket’s biggest domestic league.
