Mclaren Double Podium! Piastri Delivers Resounding Win at Bahrain GP
Oscar Piastri Wins 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix in Dominant McLaren Performance
Oscar Piastri delivered a commanding victory at the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix, securing his second win of the season and McLaren’s first-ever triumph at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The Australian driver, celebrating his 50th F1 start, converted pole position into a flawless race, finishing over 15 seconds ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell, who claimed second place. McLaren’s Lando Norris rounded out the podium in third, maintaining his championship lead despite a five-second penalty for a grid box misalignment.
The race, held under floodlights on the 5.412-kilometer Sakhir circuit, saw Piastri fend off an early challenge from Russell, who locked up into Turn 1. Norris battled back from sixth on the grid, overtaking Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who finished fourth.

Lewis Hamilton, in his best grand prix result for Ferrari, took fifth, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen struggled to sixth, hampered by slow pit stops and car issues. Alpine’s Pierre Gasly impressed with seventh, scoring his team’s first points of 2025.
Post-race, Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg was disqualified from 13th place due to excessive skid plank wear, while Russell survived a DRS infringement probe to keep his podium.
The event, the fourth round of the season, highlighted McLaren’s dominance, with Piastri now second in the drivers’ standings. The F1 circus moves next to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah from April 18-20.
