India Celebrates 80th Independence Day, PM Modi To Lead Red Fort Ceremony

India is celebrating its 80th Independence Day on August 15, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the main national ceremony at the historic Red Fort in New Delhi. The occasion is being marked across the country with flag-hoisting ceremonies, cultural programmes and patriotic events, while security has been tightened around key venues in the national capital.
