Gujarat GSEB 10th Results 2026: Girls Outscore Boys With 88.28% Pass Rate Across All Categories

Gujarat GSEB announces 10th results, with girls achieving an 88.28% pass rate, outperforming boys across all categories.

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has announced the Class 10 examination results for 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 83.86%. The results highlight a consistent trend of girls outperforming boys across all categories, including regular students, repeaters, and the open school system.

Among regular candidates, who form the largest segment, girls achieved a pass percentage of 88.28%, significantly higher than the 80.12% recorded by boys. A total of 353,741 girls had registered for the exams, with 346,551 appearing and 305,943 successfully passing. In comparison, 416,252 boys registered, 409,841 appeared, and 328,384 cleared the examination.

The performance gap was also evident among repeater candidates, where girls recorded a pass percentage of 38.36%, compared to 31.41% among boys. Participation in this category showed that 20,517 girls appeared for the exams, while the number of boys stood significantly higher at 46,887.

In the Gujarat State Open School (GSOS) category, girls again outperformed boys by a notable margin. Girls achieved a pass percentage of 36.25%, while boys recorded 23.23%. A total of 8,945 girls appeared for the GSOS exams, compared to 14,408 boys, further reflecting the gender-based performance gap.

Education experts note that the consistent outperformance by girls across categories indicates improving academic engagement and performance levels among female students in the state. The trend aligns with broader national patterns where girls have increasingly shown stronger results in board examinations.

The GSEB results are a key milestone for students progressing to higher secondary education, and the board is expected to release further details, including district-wise performance and toppers, in the coming days.
