Eight-Year-Old From Ahmedabad Sets Limbo Skating World Record Under 16 Cm Bar

Eight-year-old girl from Ahmedabad sets limbo skating world record.

An eight-year-old girl from Ahmedabad has entered the Guinness World Records after achieving a remarkable feat in limbo skating, setting a global benchmark for the lowest under-bar performance over a 25-metre distance. The achievement was officially recorded on March 10, 2024, and has brought international attention to the young skater’s discipline and skill at a very early age.

The record was set by Takshvi Vaghani, who successfully completed limbo skating under a bar set at just 16 centimetres (6.29 inches) from the ground. According to Guinness World Records, this is the lowest limbo skating height ever recorded over a 25-metre stretch. The achievement required precise balance, flexibility and control, making it one of the most technically demanding skating records in its category.

Takshvi reportedly undertook the challenge as a personal goal and completed the performance during a specially organised attempt in Ahmedabad. She also completed a shorter 10-metre stretch during her record-setting effort. The young skater’s performance demonstrated consistent control and endurance throughout the attempt, which was carefully monitored and documented for official validation.

Speaking about her journey, Takshvi said she has been skating since the age of four and follows an intensive practice routine. She trains for several hours daily under professional coaching, focusing on improving balance, technique and flexibility. Her commitment to regular training has helped her progress quickly in competitive skating at a very young age.

Her family also played a key role in supporting her sporting journey. Her father, Hernil Vaghani, shared that she was introduced to multiple sports as a toddler, and skating quickly became her area of interest. With structured coaching from the age of four, she began participating in tournaments and consistently performed well, eventually progressing to international-level recognition. Takshvi’s achievement has been widely appreciated as an example of dedication and discipline in youth sports. Her record not only highlights her personal hard work but also reflects the growing presence of young Indian athletes making their mark on global platforms through unconventional sporting disciplines.
