Bayern Munich in Talks to Keep Harry Kane Beyond 2027

Bayern Munich confirm contract extension talks with Harry Kane as he thrives in Germany.

Bayern Munich have confirmed that discussions are underway to extend the contract of star striker Harry Kane, signalling the club’s intent to secure the long-term future of one of Europe’s most prolific forwards. The confirmation came on Monday from Bayern sporting director Max Eberl during a Bundesliga-related event held in Frankfurt.

Kane, who joined the German champions from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, is currently under contract until 2027. Speaking to reporters, Eberl acknowledged ongoing talks with the England captain, noting that while no immediate decision was required, clarity would eventually be needed. He emphasised that communication between the club and the player remains open and constructive.

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also expressed confidence in the relationship, stating that Kane feels comfortable in Munich and has strong trust in the club’s sporting project. Dreesen added that there is no urgency surrounding the negotiations, highlighting that Kane and his family have settled well in Germany since his arrival.

Kane’s impact at Bayern has been significant both individually and collectively. After years without a major team trophy, the 32-year-old ended that drought in 2025 when Bayern secured the Bundesliga title. This season, the club sits eight points clear at the top of the league table and is placed second in the 36-team Champions League standings, underlining their strong domestic and European form.

On a personal level, Kane has delivered remarkable numbers, scoring 119 goals and providing 30 assists in 126 appearances for Bayern. In the current campaign alone, he has netted 34 goals in 30 matches, including 21 goals in 19 Bundesliga games, putting him on course to challenge Robert Lewandowski’s single-season league record of 41 goals set in 2020–21. Kane previously said he could “definitely imagine” extending his stay in Germany, adding weight to Bayern’s optimism over a potential contract extension.
