Anis Sajan Distributes 700 Asia Cup Tickets to Workers in Generous CSR Move

Anis Sajan gifts 700+ India-Pakistan match tickets to Dubai’s blue-collar workers.

Anis Sajan, fondly known as ‘Mr. Cricket UAE’ and Vice Chairman of the Danube Group, has made headlines with a remarkable act of generosity, distributing over 700 tickets for the highly anticipated India-Pakistan Asia Cup match to blue-collar workers in Dubai. This initiative, part of Danube Group’s commitment to employee welfare, also covers food, transport, and logistics, ensuring a memorable experience for workers who rarely get to attend such high-profile cricket events. Sajan, a prominent businessman and cricket enthusiast who owns a regional team featuring Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman, emphasized the emotional significance of the gesture.

“For many workers, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see their sporting heroes up close,” Sajan told Khaleej Times. “Cricket matches of this scale are rare in the UAE, and when such moments come, I want to ensure that those who work tirelessly behind the scenes also get to be part of the joy and celebration.” With Danube’s diverse workforce of over 2,000 employees representing various South Asian nationalities, Sajan highlighted their role as the backbone of the company’s growth, adding, “At the end of the day, cricket is about building bridges.” The tickets were distributed via a lucky draw to ensure fairness, prioritizing workers from cricket-loving nations like India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

The India-Pakistan match, set for September 14 at Dubai Cricket Stadium, is the centerpiece of the Asia Cup 2025, hosted in the UAE. Sajan expressed confidence in India’s dominance, predicting a score exceeding 180 runs and a victory driven by standout players like Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Jasprit Bumrah. “The team plays T20 cricket on a completely different level,” he remarked, noting that the pitch typically favors batting after the initial overs. The match’s electric atmosphere is expected to draw a packed stadium, with ticket prices ranging from Rs 8,742 to as high as Rs 8 lakh, underscoring the significance of Sajan’s gesture for workers who could not otherwise afford such an experience.

From hosting match screenings at his villa to sponsoring local tournaments, his efforts reflect a deep commitment to fostering cricket’s unifying spirit. This act of gifting tickets aligns with his broader vision of recognizing and uplifting his workforce, many of whom idolize cricket stars but lack access to live matches due to financial constraints.

The Danube Group’s initiative has been widely praised on social media and by cricket fans, who see it as a heartwarming example of corporate social responsibility. By enabling blue-collar workers to witness cricketing history, Sajan not only boosts morale but also reinforces the UAE’s role as a hub of cultural unity and sporting passion. As the India-Pakistan clash looms, Sajan’s gesture ensures that hundreds of workers will share in the joy of this iconic rivalry, creating lasting memories in the stands of Dubai Cricket Stadium.
