Tata's Chandrasekaran calls AI the biggest IT opportunity; the group collaborates with OpenAI.
Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Group, on Thursday described artificial intelligence as the biggest opportunity for the IT services industry, even as the technology reshapes traditional business models.
Speaking at the Bharat Mandapam during the India AI Impact Summit, Chandrasekaran emphasised that the core strength of the IT sector lies in its deep contextual understanding of enterprises. He said this capability would become even more valuable in the AI-driven future.
Calling AI a “foundational technology", Chandrasekaran compared its potential impact to transformative innovations such as the steam engine, electricity, and the internet. He stressed that the industry’s mission should be to ensure artificial intelligence benefits every individual and organisation.
