Vijay To Campaign In Tiruppur, Cover Eight Constituencies With Roadshow Under Tight Security
Vijay campaigns across Tiruppur seats with roadshow, heavy security; Dharmapuri event cancelled unexpectedly.
Actor-turned-politician Vijay is set to intensify his election campaign in Tiruppur on Tuesday, launching a high-energy roadshow across eight key Assembly constituencies as part of his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s outreach ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
According to party sources, Vijay will campaign across Tiruppur North, Tiruppur South, Avinashi, Palladam, Kangayam, Dharapuram, Udumalpet, and Madathukulam constituencies. The effort is aimed at consolidating voter support in crucial regions where the party is seeking to strengthen its grassroots presence in a tightly contested electoral environment.
Vijay is scheduled to depart from Chennai by flight and arrive in Coimbatore before proceeding by road to Avinashi, where the main leg of the campaign will begin. The roadshow is expected to start around 3 p.m. from the Attayampalayam division, with Vijay addressing supporters from atop a specially arranged campaign vehicle as it moves through prominent areas, including the old and new bus stand zones.

The campaign convoy will then travel along the national highway toward Perumanallur and extend further to Pooluvapatti, covering densely populated and commercially active areas. Throughout the route, Vijay is expected to interact with party workers, supporters, and the public, seeking to energise the campaign and mobilise voter turnout in favour of TVK candidates.
Authorities have granted conditional permission for the roadshow between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., imposing strict guidelines to maintain public order. In anticipation of large crowds, extensive security arrangements have been deployed across Avinashi and surrounding areas, with senior police officials overseeing the situation to prevent any untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, the party announced the sudden cancellation of Vijay’s planned campaign event in Dharmapuri later in the day, despite earlier approval from the Election Commission. The move has surprised party workers, with no official explanation provided so far, even as Vijay’s Tiruppur visit is expected to draw significant public attention in the ongoing electoral battle.
