Vijay To Address Mega Kanyakumari Rally For TVK Ahead Of Tamil Nadu Elections

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Joseph Vijay is scheduled to address a large public rally in Kanyakumari district on Sunday as campaigning intensifies ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, with political parties entering the final phase of outreach before voting concludes.
The actor-turned-politician is expected to campaign in support of TVK candidates contesting in six Assembly constituencies, including Kanyakumari, Nagercoil, Colachel, Vilavancode, Killiyoor, and Padmanabhapuram. The highlight of his visit will be a major public meeting at the Vivekananda College Ground, where the party is anticipating a significant turnout of supporters.
Party organisers had initially sought permission to hold the rally from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., but authorities approved the event with restrictions, allowing it to take place only between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. The reduced duration reflects regulatory limits imposed as campaigning approaches its final deadline.

With the Election Commission of India permitting campaigning only until the evening of April 21, political activity across Tamil Nadu has intensified. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader and Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has been conducting multiple public meetings daily, while All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami continues extensive roadshows across constituencies. Naam Tamilar Katchi chief coordinator Seeman is also actively campaigning across various regions.
In preparation for the rally, senior TVK functionaries Anand and Sengottaiyan have been inspecting arrangements in Kanyakumari district, reviewing security measures, stage setup, and logistical planning to ensure smooth conduct of the event. Party officials have described the rally as a key organisational focus in the southern region.
The upcoming public meeting is being viewed as an important moment for TVK’s electoral strategy in southern Tamil Nadu, as parties intensify their efforts to consolidate voter support ahead of polling. Vijay’s campaign appearance is expected to play a significant role in shaping the party’s visibility and outreach in the final stretch of the election season.
