Vijay Holds Poll Strategy Meet; Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Denies Alliance Talks

Vijay reviews election plans as TVK denies alliance rumours.

Actor-turned-politician Vijay on Tuesday held a key meeting with party functionaries to review electoral preparations, even as his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) denied reports of ongoing alliance negotiations with other political parties ahead of upcoming elections.

According to party sources, Vijay met senior leaders and coordinators to assess organisational readiness and discuss strategies to strengthen the party’s presence across Tamil Nadu. The discussions reportedly focused on booth-level mobilisation, expanding party membership, and identifying priority constituencies where TVK plans to intensify its outreach.

Amid speculation in political circles about possible alliances, TVK leaders said the party has not entered into any formal discussions with other parties regarding seat-sharing arrangements. Party representatives clarified that the focus at present remains on building the organisation and preparing an independent strategy for the electoral battle.

The meeting is seen as part of Vijay’s broader effort to consolidate the party structure since launching TVK as a political platform aimed at addressing governance issues and social welfare concerns in the state. Party workers have been actively conducting local-level meetings and outreach campaigns in recent months to expand their support base.

Political observers say the emergence of TVK has added a new dimension to Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, traditionally dominated by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). Analysts believe Vijay’s growing political involvement could influence electoral dynamics, particularly among younger voters and urban constituencies.

While alliance speculation continues, TVK leaders reiterated that any future decisions on partnerships or electoral strategy would be announced officially by the party leadership. For now, the party says its priority is strengthening grassroots structures and preparing for upcoming political contests across the state.
