UP CM Adityanath Addresses First Assam Rally, Targets Congress and AIUDF Over Infiltration

Yogi campaigned in Assam targeting Congress and AIUDF over infiltration concerns.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday stated that prayers are no longer offered on roads in Uttar Pradesh, as he addressed his first election rally in poll-bound Assam. Speaking in Barpeta constituency, Adityanath highlighted what he described as improved law and order conditions in his state, presenting it as a model of governance.

Addressing the gathering, Adityanath remarked, “No curfew, no danga, vahan sab hai changa,” asserting that communal disturbances have significantly reduced in Uttar Pradesh under his administration. He also claimed that religious places in the state no longer witness disruptions or loud disturbances, emphasising a shift towards what he termed as disciplined public conduct.

The rally was held in support of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Deepak Kumar Das, with Adityanath urging voters to back the alliance in the upcoming elections. He positioned the NDA as committed to maintaining stability and safeguarding the state’s social and cultural fabric.

During his speech, Adityanath also targeted opposition parties, including the Indian National Congress and the All India United Democratic Front, accusing them of enabling infiltration in Assam. He alleged that such actions could alter the demographic structure of the state, a claim frequently raised in political discourse in the region.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister further stated that the NDA government would ensure Assam does not become a “land of love jihad or land jihad,” reiterating a controversial narrative often used in political campaigns. He asserted that any attempts to destabilise the state through infiltration or demographic changes would be firmly countered.

The rally marks an important moment in the ongoing political campaign in Assam, with senior leaders from across states participating to bolster support for their respective parties. As election activities intensify, issues such as law and order, identity, and development are expected to dominate political discourse in the state.
