Uddhav Thackeray To Visit Constituencies Of Defected Shiv Sena MPs
Uddhav Thackeray plans constituency tour after MP defections.
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray is set to undertake a statewide tour from June 27 to June 29, covering several constituencies in Maharashtra from where party MPs have recently shifted allegiance to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction.
The three-day tour has been announced as an outreach initiative aimed at reconnecting with voters and rebuilding grassroots support. According to a statement issued by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut in his capacity as Saamana executive editor, the visit will span multiple districts, with senior party leaders assigned specific responsibilities for coordination and local arrangements.
The move comes in the wake of reported rebellion by six MPs, including representatives from Dharashiv, Parbhani, Yavatmal, Hingoli, Shirdi, and Mulund North East, who are believed to be aligning with the Shinde faction. Thackeray has indicated that he intends to personally reach out to these constituencies and, in an emotional appeal, express regret to voters who supported candidates who later defected after the 2024 general elections.

The tour will begin on June 27 in Yavatmal, followed by visits to Washim and Hingoli, before concluding the day with an overnight stay in Parbhani. Party leaders including MPs, MLAs, liaison officers, and district chiefs have been assigned oversight duties in each region to ensure coordinated public interactions and event management.
On June 28, Thackeray is scheduled to visit Parbhani city in the morning and later proceed to Dharashiv in the afternoon. The day will end with a night halt at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The final leg on June 29 includes a visit to the temple town of Shirdi before the delegation returns to Mumbai, marking the conclusion of the outreach tour.
The tour is also being viewed within the broader political context of Maharashtra, where shifting alliances have intensified competition between rival Shiv Sena factions. Earlier, Thackeray had also made a strong political statement on his party’s foundation day, indicating he would consider stepping down if his leadership was questioned by party members, while warning of increasing political instability in the state.
