Tejashwi Yadav Condemns BJP Pressure, Bihar Govt Ignoring Citizens’ Needs
Tejashwi Yadav claims BJP forced Nitish Kumar to resign.
Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, has alleged that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar resigned from his position as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) under pressure exerted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Tejashwi Yadav stated that while resigning from one legislative post after being elected to another is usually a procedural matter, in Kumar’s case it appears to have been forced against his wishes. “It is clear that BJP leaders have deceived both Nitish Kumar and the people of the state,” he said, accusing the ruling alliance of sidelining the Chief Minister.
The RJD leader also criticized the NDA government for misleading voters during the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. He highlighted unfulfilled promises, including the livelihood support scheme for women, which he said distributed only Rs 10,000 instead of the promised Rs 2 lakh, and electricity claims, noting that Bihar continues to have high tariffs despite government assurances.

Tejashwi further raised concerns over inflation, citing rising prices of LPG, petrol, and diesel. He claimed that price controls are temporary, linked to upcoming elections, and warned of sharp increases afterward.
On governance issues, he accused the state administration of failing to ensure law and order, citing daily incidents of crime and lack of justice. He also criticized certain leaders, such as Rural Works Minister Ashok Choudhary, for “drama politics” rather than addressing substantive problems like crop compensation, education, healthcare, and irrigation.
Pointing to political instability, Tejashwi said Bihar has lacked a stable government since 2012, questioning how public issues could be effectively addressed under such conditions.
Looking beyond Bihar, Tejashwi commented on elections in other states, saying his party’s alliance with the LDF in Kerala would aim for power in the state and predicting a heavy defeat for the BJP in West Bengal and Kerala.
Overall, Tejashwi Yadav’s statements framed Nitish Kumar’s resignation as politically coerced and criticized the BJP-led government for failing to fulfill promises and address critical issues affecting the people of Bihar.
