Tejashwi Yadav Accuses Election Commission of Withholding Voter Data, Alleges Bias in Bihar Polls

RJD leader and INDIA bloc's chief ministerial hopeful Tejashwi Yadav unleashed a scathing attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI) during a press conference in Patna on Monday, accusing the poll body of deliberately withholding crucial gender-wise voter data from the first phase of Bihar assembly elections held on November 6. Four days post-voting, the absence of this breakdown—routinely released immediately in past polls—has sparked suspicions of foul play, with Yadav declaring it a historic lapse that undermines electoral transparency.

Yadav alleged the ECI has lost independence under PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, warning officials of “dire consequences” for any collusion in rigging. He highlighted 208 security companies and 68% police observers from BJP-ruled states, calling it a calculated attempt to manipulate Bihar’s polls and intimidate opposition voters.

He slammed PM Modi for dodging unemployment and migration issues in rallies, mocking his “web series” obsession while ignoring corruption charges against NDA leaders like Samrat Choudhary. Yadav also accused Modi of sharing stages with scam-accused and controversial figures, exposing BJP’s double standards.

Tejashwi asserted outsiders like Amit Shah aim to control Bihar but will be rejected by voters. He predicted an INDIA bloc victory and oath-taking on November 18, vowing zero tolerance for crime, communalism, and corruption under his government.

As the second phase looms, his demand for instant data release has fueled opposition outrage, mounting pressure on the ECI to restore trust before allegations of foul play escalate into a full-blown electoral crisis.
